Polarizing
About
Polarizing
Polarizing light microscopy is a contrast-enhancing technique used to evaluate the composition and 3D structure of certain specimens. Originally used in the fields of geology and mineralogy, this technique has also gained wide use in medical and research fields. Polarized light is used to improve image quality especially in substances that are 'direction-dependent' or anisotropic - where the specimen has a different value when measured in different directions.
